Giving money to a beggar / homeless person often results in substance abuse. Ignoring a homeless person in need is also not helpful.
With the Cheese app (run by Heartflow) you can securely give a digital coupon to someone in need (e.g. homeless) you may come across. You can then direct them to the appropriate service provider (as indicated on the app). where the person can exchange the coupon for either a meal, a blanket or to stay at the night shelter depending on the item you bought for them. You will be notified once someone redeems the coupon you have bought for them.
Though Cheese you can thus help those in need (e.g. homeless) in a safe and healthy way.
We will be adding more services and functionality as we continue to develop the app. The services are currently only offered in Stellenbosch.
